New complex of the Loginov Clinical Scientific and Practical Center opened in Moscow

A new medical and diagnostic complex of the Moscow Clinical Scientific and Practical Center named after A.S. Loginov, one of the country’s key cancer clinics, has been opened on the Enthusiasts Highway. In place of outdated buildings of the 50-70s, there is a building with the latest equipment, its own laboratory and the highest standards of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Here, patients will be able to receive all types of oncological medical care.

The Metropolis company acted as the general designer in this project. The scope of work performed includes architectural and construction design, design of internal engineering systems and on-site networks at the stages of the Concept, Project Documentation and Detail Design.

On June 14, the center was visited by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova. Sergei Sobyanin congratulated Igor Khatkov, director of the Loginov Moscow Scientific Center, and all the medical staff on the opening of the complex, as well as all Muscovites, as they now have more opportunities to receive first-class quality medical care. He also congratulated doctors on the upcoming Medical Worker's Day.

Tatyana Golikova noted that it would be not just a clinic for treating patients, but also a place for the prevention and timely detection of oncological diseases. Great hopes are placed on it regarding medical help to Muscovites. She also added that the construction of the center is part of the program of the national project "Healthcare" announced by the President of Russia.

The new medical and diagnostic complex is designed for 613 beds, including 455 round-the-clock hospital beds, 38 resuscitation and intensive care beds and 120 daytime hospital beds.

The new building is connected to the existing medical buildings by covered passages. In one place, cancer patients will receive all types of medical care from diagnostics to high-tech treatment and dispensary observation, ensuring continuity at the inpatient and outpatient stages. In accordance with the new standard of oncological care, seamless routing has been created for patients, and care will be provided by a multidisciplinary team of doctors.

The complex is provided with unique equipment that will expand the possibilities of performing high-tech operations and conduct radiation therapy (3D and 4D). In total, the complex provides for 46 units of heavy medical equipment. In this regard, the Loginov center is one of the world leaders among medical centers.

Also, the doctors of the clinic will use a modern fast track recovery system. It helps patients return to normal life in the shortest possible time - 2 to 3 days for standard surgical interventions.

For patients, their relatives and medical staff, the clinic has created most comfortable conditions for staying and working. The hospital wards are small, equipped with multifunctional beds with electric drive, call buttons for medical staff, air conditioning and ventilation systems, showers and toilets.

From the design point of view, the object is technically complex. Each of the 25 departments, each of the 4 blocks has its own unique functional purpose with its own requirements for engineering and technological support. Technological, planning and engineering solutions on each floor differ from each other. This affected the number of engineering networks in the building and the complexity of their configurations.

For the engineering support of this facility, systems of power supply, water supply and sanitation, fire extinguishing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, heat and cold supply of the building, communication networks, automation and dispatching of the above systems, medical gas supply and pneumatic mail system were developed. To accommodate the required number of engineering systems and networks, the building has 2 technical floors. In total, 523 volumes of project documentation and detail design were developed for the facility.

The new medical and diagnostic complex will receive the first patients this summer.
