Forum.Digital Construction 2020
On March 24, construction industry leaders first convened remotely during the coronavirus infection period to discuss digitalization of the construction industry - Forum.Digital Construction 2020.
In the online format, not only discussions and speeches of the speakers took place, but also a virtual exhibition of digital solutions, which operated throughout the day. Over 500 people took part in Forum.Digital Construction Online.
The online event took place simultaneously from two locations: from the Digital Economy Development Fund and the University of Minstroy NIISF RAASN. More than 20 digital solutions for the construction industry were offered at Forum.Digital Construction, 50+ speakers demonstrated cases for the preparation of the technical building, documentation, the introduction of advanced end-to-end technologies and the successful transformation of the construction industry.
The first in Russia VR-exhibition of digital construction solutions took place at the online forum. An innovative approach, virtual expositions, a completely new format - this is what distinguishes it from others. Such large companies as 1C, Rive Gauche, Hexagon, Spectrum and others demonstrated their IT solutions. Each forum participant could walk around the VR exhibition, study the stands of companies and communicate in private chat with exhibitors - representatives of leading construction companies who promptly answered questions. These chats helped offset live networking through online communication.
One of the speakers of the section "Design and construction activities in infrastructure projects" was Svetlana Parkhomenko, head of the BIM-technology department of Metropolis. Speakers of Forum.Digital Online paid special attention to the pre-project preparation of construction and the use of information modeling technologies in practice.
Experts discussed exactly how this process will go and how long it will take to fully digitalize the construction industry. - Digitalization may become more substantial and relevant than it was before, says Dmitry Volkov, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, - When we talk about the implementation of information modeling technologies in the construction industry, it is worth noting that financing will be provided by the state. The introduction of BIM-technologies in the design of construction will be mandatory from 2023-2024. The transition process will be faster. The first thing that is planned to be done is to form an information system for ensuring urban development activities, both at the regional and federal levels. Subsequently, translate the documents into machine-readable form.
- We hope that in the near future the digital twin map will become a implemented project, and we will be able to see the digitalized construction industry, says Maxim Chereshnev, Member of the Board of the Digital Economy Development Fund, - Throughout the year, we will continue to work together with the Russian Ministry of Construction and the Digital Economy Development Fund in order to develop digital projects and support those companies engaged in digitalization of the construction industry. The digital counterparts that were presented mutually develop this direction and the direction of BIM technologies and enable designers to use these technologies now in the current circumstances.
