    Siemens headquarters is LEED Gold certified

    In 2009, Metropolis developed an engineering systems project for SIEMENS AG headquarters in Moscow, located in the historical center of the city in the business center "Legion II" at the address: st. Bolshaya Tatarskaya, bld.13. Estimated area of office space is 19,500 m².


    The scope of work of Metropolis included the development of conceptual solutions and tender documentation for engineering systems for the entire facility, including the entrance area, atrium, restaurant, conference room and VIP area, as well as office and technical premises, underground floors and external communications.


    The project was completed using the latest construction technologies to ensure that the building complies with the requirements of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standard.


    On March 13, the Siemens headquarters building was officially LEED Gold certified, becoming the first project of its kind in Moscow and the second project to be LEED certified in Russia.



    The following aspects were especially highlighted:

    1. location of the office in terms of its accessibility to public, car and bicycle modes of transport;
    2. efficient use of water resources, reducing water consumption by 36%;
    3. environmentally friendly optimization of energy costs, in particular, cooling and heating systems, minimizing the negative impact on the atmosphere while saving energy resources and the cost of their consumption by about 46%;
    4. application of new strategies and innovations in the office concept, high quality of the indoor environment.
