The scientific and technical journal "Construction Mechanics and Calculation of Structures" (No. 3 for 2024) published an article on which employees of the following companies worked: Metropolis LLC, Research Institute of Building Constructions (TSNIISK) named after V. A. Koucherenko, Joint Stock Company - Research Center of Construction and Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.
The publication describes “RECONSTRUCTION OPTIONS FOR THE LARGE SPORTS ARENA OF THE LUZHNIKI STADIUM FOR THE 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP”.
The article presents the results of comparing the options for choosing the type of console part, which is additionally mounted to increase the coverage area, which is necessary to meet the strict requirements of the International Football Federation (FIFA) for the possibility of holding the opening and final matches of the FIFA World Cup at the stadium. Based on the results of comparing the options, the type of cantilever part and the roof material were selected, the process of determining snow loads obtained by blowing the frame model in a wind tunnel is presented. The paper presents the main results of the calculation, as well as the first values of the natural shapes and frequencies of vibrations.
In collaboration with Mikhail Iosifovich Farfel, head of the Laboratory for Rationing, reconstruction and Monitoring of unique buildings and Structures of the V.A. Kucherenko Central Research Institute, representatives of the Metropolis company worked on the article: CEO Alexander Vorozhbitov, head of the Design Solutions Department Alexey Kushchenko, Chief Engineer Alexander Lyubartsev and Chief Designer Peter Korsakov. The intellectual work is based on a description of the results of interesting work on the reconstruction of the Grand Sports Arena “Luzhniki” - a unique experience in developing constructive and engineering solutions for this facility.
We are proud of the work done by our team and the reflection of achievements in a professional magazine, which allows us to improve the design culture and move forward the entire field of construction engineering!
