    Construction industry experts named the winners of the Steel2Real-19 contest

    The final of the 6th International Student Project Competition Steel2Real-19 was held in Moscow.


    This year the competition had two categories: Steel2Real-19 for bachelors of 3 and 4 courses, 3-6 years of specialist and master's programs of universities with architectural and construction specialties and Steel2Real.PRO-19 for undergraduates of any form of education and young specialists in architectural and construction specialties.


    Steel2Real-19 nominees designed a kindergarten based on a steel frame, and in the Steel2Real.PRO-19 category there is a residential apartment building with a built-in preschool on the ground floor based on a steel frame.


    The competition received more than 200 applications from 70 universities in Russia and abroad. The expert commission chose the best works in the architectural and engineering nominations. Their authors were invited to face-to-face defense at the ARCH Moscow-2019 exhibition.


    “We selected the jury so that it would be possible to evaluate projects from all sides: from metal-roll manufacturers and designers to developers. To make it clear how “viable” projects are offered by Steel2Real participants,” notes Alexander Danilov, General Director of ARSS.


    The jury of the architectural category of the competition included Dmitry Litvinov, Chief Specialist Architect of the Metropolis company, as well as representatives of ARSS, Moscomarchitecture, Construction Research Center, EVRAZ, Severstal Steel Solutions, Severstal-Proekt, ProfStalProkat, TrimbleSolutions, Autodesk, Ferro-Stroy, Knauf and MUKOSEY: ARCHITECTURE * DESIGN // MEDIA Bureau.


    The final of the competition was opened by Boris Uborevich-Borovsky, a member of the Union of Moscow Architects, Head of the architectural studio ub.design.



    According to the results of the defense, the winners in the architectural category Steel2Real-19:

    1. 1 place – Dyatlova Alexandra, Rekun Taisiya (Tomsk, TGASU);
    2. 2 place – Yulia Madudina, Boris Lakhno (Moscow, GUZ);
    3. 3 place – Bondareva Victoria (Rostov-on-Don, AAI SFedU).


    Winners in the engineering design category Steel2Real-19:

    1. 1 place – Nikita Shestakov (Novosibirsk, NGASU);
    2. 2 place – Roman Proskurin, Veronika Chvanova (St. Petersburg, SPbGASU);
    3. 3 place – Nikita Isupov, Alexander Yamkovsky (Yekaterinburg, UrFU).


    Winners in the architectural category Steel2Real.PRO-19:

    1. 1 place – Daniil Ermakov, Olga Rakova (Moscow, MSTU);
    2. 2 place – Angelina Strizhenok (Moscow, Moscow Architectural Institute);
    3. 3 place – Timur Melikov (Kyiv, KNUSA).


    Winners in the engineering category Steel2Real.PRO-19:

    1. 1 place – Olga Burukhina, Ksenia Zaikova, Irina Karabutova, Sofia Kopytova, Maria Protasova (Yekaterinburg, UrFU);
    2. 2 place – Daria Gliznitsa, Anastasia Prudnikova (Chelyabinsk, SUSU);
    3. 3 place – Arslan Bammatov, Olesya Konovalova (Moscow, MGSU).


    The total prize fund of the competition amounted to 720 thousand rubles.


    In addition, the winners received prizes from the partners.


    Dmitry Litvinov noted that the projects of the finalists turned out to be mature and modern, the competition between the finalists was tense, the questions of the jury were sharp without stipulating that they were still students: “Judging at the competition was undoubtedly a pleasant experience, it was nice to plunge into student atmosphere, to remember the years spent at the Institute”.
