18-20 February from the award ceremony for winners of the anniversary XXV All-Russian Competition «Engineer of the Year» took place at the International Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations. Traditional organizers included the Russian and International Unions of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations, the Prokhorov Academy of Engineering Sciences, and the Interregional Public Foundation for Promotion of Scientific and Technical Progress. The competition consists of two versions: «Art of Young Engineers» for contestants aged up to 30 inclusively, and «Professional Engineers» for participants having at least five years of work experience in engineering positions.

The competition – aims to enhance the attractiveness of engineering professions, recognize the best engineers as the elite of the Russian engineering community, showcase achievements and experiences of leading Russian engineers. Participants' results were evaluated by prominent Russian scientists, academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, constructors, engineers, representatives of governmental agencies, executives of major enterprises, and leaders of engineering unions.

This year, the expert committee received over 70,000 applications from more than 60 regions of Russia. The I tour round resulted in 1 085 engineers, out of them, 417 became laureates of the All-Russian competition «Engineer of the Year»,including 284 winners in the version «Professional Engineers» and 133 in the version «Art of Young Engineers». Laureates were honored with diplomas, commemorative medals, certificates, and silver badges «Professional Engineer of Russia».

«Metropolis» LLC ranked fifth among organizations by the number of winners this year and received a letter of appreciation from RosSNIO:

Among the TOP-5 categories by the number of winners is "Construction and Building Industry," where 55 laureates include 19 employees of Metropolis LLC:

4. Transport – 58
5. Construction and building industry – 55

Three employees of «Metropolis» became winners of the «Engineer of the Year» competition, while nine were victorious in Round I in the category «Professional Engineers». Under the category «Art of Young Engineers», two colleagues became laureates, and five were victorious in I Tour.

On February 20 a reception honoring the competition laureates was held at the President-Hotel. More than 30 messages addressed to the winners were delivered verbally. Words of support came from Yury Gulayev, President of the Russian and International Unions of NIUs and chairman of the jury, Valentina Matviyenko , Chairperson of the Federation Council, Mikhail Mishustin , Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin , Chairman of the State Duma, and regional governors.

There are many talented and skilled engineers in the «Metropolis» team, and this year, 19 of them proved their worthiness! Last year, 13 employees earned the title of «Engineer of the Year».
