XXVII International Architecture Festival "Zodchestvo"

On October 17, in the Gostiny Dvor, the grand opening of the 27th International Architecture Festival "Zodchestvo" took place. The event was held on October 17-19 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow and the Moscow Region. The event is organized by the Union of Architects of Russia. Zodchestvo is an annual international architectural festival, within the framework of which a review of achievements in the field of architecture and urban planning is held. Its competition program involves not only creative architectural groups, design institutes, workshops and bureaus, but also young architects, students of architectural universities and faculties, children's architectural and art groups, as well as entire cities and regions of Russia.

An introductory speech has been given to Nikolai Shumakov, president of the Union of Architects of Russia and the Union of Moscow Architects: Exactly a year has passed since the last, XXVI festival Zodchestvo. Finally, we saw each other again at one of the few festivals for professionals, where it is always nice to meet and chat. This year we have a very extensive business and exhibition program, and thanks to the curators of the festival, it is also an incredibly interesting presentation of the material. 40 regions of Russia take part in Zodchwstvo'19, 16 of which presented their stands. Last year, 28 thousand people visited our festival - I hope that this year we will easily surpass this figure. I wish you all happiness and transparency in life.

The chief architect of Moscow, Sergey Kuznetsov, at the opening of the festival, has said: I am very grateful to the Union, which for many years, despite the difficulties, has been doing a lot of work and organizing this event. The Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning, as a representative of the city of Moscow, also participates here with its ideas and desire to show itself. I invite everyone to visit our booth dedicated to the current topic of caring for historical sites this year, which does not have a status, but no less valuable from this.

The most important figures in architecture and urban planning also have attended the opening ceremony: Keren Cohen-Gat, Chargé d'Affaires of the State of Israel in the Russian Federation, Vladislav Savinkin and Vladimir Kuzmin, curators of Zodchestva'19, Dmitry Mayorov, CEO of RUS Corporation and Anton Debabov, Development Director of KARBOGLASS JSC.

The theme of the festival TRANSPARENCY, announced by curators Vladimir Kuzmin and Vladislav Savinkin, has been represented not only by materials - glass, polycarbonate, but also by deep concepts: the visual openness of the interpenetration of architecture and society, as well as the visibility and accessibility of professional information, which has become the hallmark of this festival.

Special attention at Zodchestvo'19 has been paid to the development of modern technologies and methods of demonstrating new architectural solutions: for example, the special project Protocols for fog and hoarfrost demonstrated the architecture of the future through natural phenomena recreated using a 3D printer, and students of the ION School of Design The RANEPA allowed visitors to the festival to look at the masterpieces of abstract art in another dimension using VR glasses - and this is only a small part of the architecture that guests were able to feel, see or feel.

During the three days of the festival, dozens of round tables, sessions, lectures, presentations, plenums and discussions have taken place at specially equipped venues - the Forum, the Lecture Hall, Conference Hall 1 and 2. As part of the business program, more than 300 leading urban planners, urbanists and architects of Russia and abroad have raised the most pressing issues, have discussed the most pressing topics of concern to the professional community.
